Lips of the Day ( A week late!) By Revlon

RRP £7.99 Boots
The perfect purple. I just need to find a Lip Stain in this colour, I use a Lip stain by Sephora which is so rich in colour and stays on for hours!! I find that I have to reapply this balm now and again but for £7.99 a stick, you can't really go wrong.
This balm is so handy for your handbag, I have 3 others which I carry on me at all times. You can mix some of the colours which is nice. A little plus side, they have the most lovely minty scent to them. I love them!

The Blogger of the Month is..

THE DESI DOSSIER.

I have decided to introduce a new post to my blog every month.
As a blogger, the love and support from other bloggers has been lovely. I have kept in touch with so many bloggers since the day I started blogging.

I haven't blogged properly in a while due to being super busy and not having a laptop. I have been thoroughly spoiled this Christmas, I now have a brand new laptop.. YAY!

Anyway, as I was saying. I thought it would be a super cool idea to share my favorite bloggers with you all. Reading blogs is my favourite thing to do, so why not share with you all?

I think I came across these girls a year or so ago. Two Girls, One named Nigar & the other, Kayennat.
One thing that appealed to me about these girls was their writing style, so so positive and friendly.
Secondly, I remember one of the first posts that caught me eye being a DIY home remedy, you all know how much I love my natural remedies!!
Their blog covers everything from Celebs, Health, Food, Hair & Beauty.

Give their blog a go, It's so worth it!

Sophia Soraya Make up - REVIEW

As a beauty blogger and a LOVER of beauty products, choosing my make- up artist for my wedding wasn't going to be easy.
I searched for months as I knew what I wanted but just needed to find that person who just KNEW the look I wanted to go for.
It was like fate, as Sophia doesn't live too far away from me. I described how I wanted the works, heavy make up, super glam, high up do. She was THE ONE!

This is the look we had settled for on my trial. Sophia is so sweet, she tried different looks on me and was very patient.

We made a few changes on the actual day which is always bound to happen once you've got the real wedding outfit on. I absolutely LOVED the vintage hair do in my trial, but I wanted to go simpler. You cannot go wrong with a simpler look, it's timeless. I decided on a centre parting instead.

I told Sophia I wanted a classic look, Pakistani look. Heavy make up, very big on the eyes. I told her I loved the Mughal/Jodha Akbhar/ Umrao Jaan type of look. Everything I asked of her, she did. If she thought something didn't look good, she spoke up. Which I loved!
I've heard a few girls tell me about their awful experiences with certain make up artists, giving them time frames, adding extra costs for last minute things on the morning. You don't need that stress on your special day. My Videographer was asking Sophia to hold her poses and she didn't mind at all. Put me at ease completely.
Sophia doesn't charge stupidly high prices either. She's worth checking out.
Thank you so much Sophia. You're an absolute star!

I am a big fan of Sophia's work. I hope you all add her to Instagram " Sophiamakeupartist "and check her work out.

She's getting herself onto YouTube soon too. Keep an eye out :)

Natural tan removing scrub - Some news!

Happy Saturday my dollies!
I wrote a little status on Facebook & Twitter recently about a natural scrub i'd conjured up at home. I gave it a go for a few weeks and here I am to disclose the info :D

Found on my facebook page, love it!

So, for some reason when then sun's out, my forearms are the only place that tan, I wouldn't care so much if I was covered from head to toe but as it's on my forearms only, My arms look ridiculous.
I get super self conscious as my arms become super super dark compared to the rest of my body.

They say Turmeric is brilliant for removing a tan and brightening the skin.

NOTE: This is NOT a skin lightener. It merely removes the dead skin cells bringing out your NATURAL skin tone again.

Ingredients are so simple.

3 tablespoons granulated Sugar
1 tablespoon Coconut Oil ( Almond would be great too)
1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric (haldi)

I mixed it all up, so it was a nice thick paste.
If your paste isn't thick, just add more sugar.
It can get real messy, so I did this before I had a shower. Stand in the bath or shower and scrub the areas you want to put it on. I personally wouldn't advise putting it on your face but that can be your own decision.

I washed it off with luke warm water. Your skin will feel super soft due to the coconut oil, after doing it once or twice a week for a month or two, you will see such a difference.
I would also use an old towel to dry it off with as the turmeric doesn't come off completely in the shower.

Perfect timing, as my Big Fat Indian Wedding prep is about to start.
I won't be blogging now for a couple months. Keep in touch with me through Instagram & Twitter @UnLeeshd
I will miss blogging but I WILL be back :)
Thank you for all of your lovely messages of support and well wishes for the wedding. I have a lot of love for you all.
See you all very soon, just call me MRS UNLEESHD :) x x x

Glam Glow - Supermud Clearing Treatment - REVIEW

Hey beauties.. Happy Saturday!
If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.. I'm sure you would have noticed photos of me with a mud mask on my face.. ha!
Hope it didn't scare anyone.
I've heard a lot of people raving about Glam Glow masks, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon too.
YES, I'm very easily influenced when it comes to beauty products.

I purchased the Supermud clearing treatment 2 weeks ago. I'm loving the fact that THIS was my first try at a mud mask. I will FOREVER buy mud masks now that I've tried this one by Glam Glow.

First of all, may I just say how angelic the packaging is. It's a right beauty.
 I know, I know..
"It's what's on the inside that counts.."
You're right, but it has to catch your eye in the first place, does it not?
As you can see on the packaging, this mask has received the "Insiders' Beauty Award" again, another reason for me picking this beauty up.

RRP £45 SPACE NK

If I could change anything about this product, I was a little disappointed at the size of the packaging, and the size of the actual product.
The packaging is lovely, but underneath all the layers leading up to the product, it was only a 34g tub. I know it says 34g on the packaging, I think compared to the packaging the product looks a little miniscule.

Negative aside, the product itself..
I've been using a thin layer of this stuff as it is so expensive. The glam glow girlies have informed me that it works just as well with a thin layer.. PERFECT.
There is no need to waste this product as it will run out so much quicker if you layer it on.

I painted it on with an old foundation brush, and waited. I didn't really know what to expect as I hadn't really read any in depth reviews on this product.
I slapped it on, and waited.. tick tock, tick tock ..

10 minutes later.. I couldn't move my face ha.. the dark mud had turned lighter due to drying out.
What was pretty cool also quite gross to see was the oil/dirt being lifted out of my skin. I had a lot of oil come from the pores on and around my nose and the chin area.

I used a wet flannel to remove the mask, it came off fairly easy.
I then used a few drops of pure coconut oil, and massaged it into my face. My face felt "plump"
ha! I know, what a word? It felt clean, but as though it all of a sudden had LIFE? Does that make sense?

Anyway, I've loved the product. Its now part of my wonderful, weekly wedding skincare routine.. (don't say that out aloud.. tongue twister!)
At £45 a tub, its a little expensive, however.. I love this product and will probably buy another tub once I run out.

UnLeeshd Haircare - 2014

Hi my little cherubs. I have been wanting to post every weekend, however you know whats going on in my life right now. I am so soo busy at all times, But here I am, writing away, doing what I love the most!
So here is my face.. incase you've missed it ha!

As some of you will be able to tell, my hair has grown.. a lot! I'm still loving the long haired look at the moment.
Although, after the wedding, its having a good chop.
How do I maintain my long locks? I hear you ask.
I recently purchased a tub of Pure coconut oil.. you can buy it for around £3/4. Don't give into the really expensive stuff.
The stuff I use is 100% refined ( I stand corrected) coconut oil by a food brand "KTC"
I've been massaging the tiniest amount into my scalp, once a week. It washes out with a normal shampoo, I don't use a conditioner! I wouldn't advise it unless your hair is super dry.

I've also been using this product by Fantasia.
Shea Butter hair moisturiser. For Dry, Damaged and Thirsty hair.
It has the same texture and consistency as Palmer's cocoa butter (not the same scent) It is a little peculiar. Its like massaging an actual moisturiser into your hair. You run it through  towel dried hair.
I was a little sceptical at first, it didn't however leave any grease, or residue on my hair.
I've fallen hard for this product.
I wouldn't advise this for people who don't get along with Silicon. My hair has taken to this product well. I bought a new bottle yesterday just to keep in my beauty cupboard.
I purchased this at a place called "Beauty Queens Cosmetics" as far as I'm aware, there are quite a few places like this in the UK.

So, this is my current haircare. I would love to know what you use to maintain your hair & also if you try any of these products, do let me know how you get on.

Laser Me Up - Part 2

Its been a good few weeks since I last blogged about the start of my laser journey. Be warned, I will be completely honest. You've been warned lol

SO.. I'm currently having my face, arms & underarms done at the moment. I will be starting the full legs off soon too!

My face is fantastic, you could always see my facial hair as my skin tone is quite light and my hair is pretty dark.. ASIAN GIRL PROBLEMS!
My face is so much clearer than it used to be, I think I need another two sessions before I have a big break.
Once my face is completely clear, I will start on my legs.

My full arm, they are so soft. The hair took a few weeks to grow back which was fab! It grows back so much lighter too which is great. My skin has discoloured a lot on my arms due to shaving for years, so laser, for me is a complete god send!

Underarms, for me, THE BEST PART! Thicker, darker hair, I don't even shave my underarms anymore as they hardly grow back. Perfect timing as Summer is here. I've only had 4 sessions!

I'm obsessed with laser now, looking forward to having my whole body done.

If you would like any information, no matter how minor the questions are, just ask!

Konjac Sponges - The Review

Oh hey guys! I purchased this sponge months ago and completely forgot I even had it. I finally opened and tried this last week. Here is my review..

RRP 7.99

I can't remember what posessed me to buy this sponge at first as I didn't really need anything of the sort. I think I was at Birmingham's "Mailbox" in John Lewis. I wanted to buy something.. you can't walk out empty handed, can you?

I'm so glad I bought it! Really chuffed with it. You're probably thinking..
"OK Alisha.. its only a sponge.."

WRONG!.. it's more than just a sponge.. So, it doesn't have any fabulous powers or anything but I've seen such a difference in my skin already due to this sponge.. I really am loving it.

Konjac is actually a vegetable used in Asia. It has been used for over 1500 years in Japan. The Konjac sponge is made from 100% vegetable fibre, which I love.
Konjac is packed full of antioxidants & minerals!
It is completely biodegradable which again, is another thing I love about it. This sponge was actually first used for babies, I genuinely would buy one to use on my future baby! (forward thinking hehe)

Its ever so soft & gentle on the skin. I use this on my face and my arms. I've been Cleansing, Toning & Moisturising religiously for the past month.. I'm on a strict wedding skincare regime! Need my skin to be in tip top shape..

How I use my Konjac Sponge..

I pop a little face wash on my skin, I love Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish.
I rub it into my face, take away as much of the product with the muslin cloth it comes with.
I then run my Konjac sponge under warm water until it puffs up and brush it over my skin in circular motions. I wouldn't advise putting product straight onto the sponge as it damages the sponge.
Be gentle with it.
My skin is actually glowing. The sponge takes away the dead skin without damaging the new skin cells.

Which Konjac Sponge do I use?

The Konjac Sponge company have different types of sponges for different types of skin. They even do baby sponges.. yes! They are THAT gentle, you can even buy one for your baby!

I purchased the Pink sponge, which has a mix of White & Red clay. The clay is packed full of minerals to help our skin look healthy and flawless.
Dependent on how often you use the sponge & how much care you take of it, the sponge should roughly last around 2-3 months.
When is starts to come apart, it's time to purchase a new one.
This might not be your cup of tea due to purchasing a new one so often but now that I've seen such a difference in my skin, I most definitely will be purchasing another.
You can purchase Konjac sponges here;
 www.KonjacSpongeCompany.com

Do these sponges appeal to you?

Fuzz Free "Forever!" - Laser me up!

When I say "Forever" it's not really forever but as long as you keep up with treatments, you will be fuzz free for a hell of a lot longer than if you got waxed.

So.. YES! I've recently started having Laser hair removal done.
I will be having my whole body done, eventually.
At the moment, I am having facial hair, neck, underarms and arms zapped.
I've only had 3 treatments so far, but I will be having them done once a month until my wedding in August.
I go on my honeymoon in September too, so it will be lovely to be hair free for longer. Gradually, I will be adding a different part of the body to the list until my whole body has been zapped.

Skin is sectioned before the treatment.

Does it hurt?

Erm.. I won't beat around the bush. I find it quite painful, but this all depends on your pain threshold.
I used to be quite good when it came to pain but even my eyebrows hurt me these days.
It's a weird sensation, the laser is hot and zaps your skin one shot after another, yet you have a cooling tube which blows out cold air to ease the pain.
I have also found that the thinner the hair, the less you feel it. I have thinner hairs on my upper arm and I sit happily through that.
Underarms last around 2 minutes each but I find that a little on the painful sides. My appointment lasts around 20 minutes. Its a pretty fast treatments and my lovely Laser consultant is very thorough.

Luckily.. you're allowed to take a paracetomol 30 minutes before your appointment which I am beginning to do.

After a week or so you do see the difference.
After my first treatments, my underarms didn't grow back until 2 weeks later.
And when I say grow, I mean the tiniest amount. I've seen & felt a visible difference already, this makes the pain worth it!

BE CAREFUL!
Before starting any type of laser treatment, please research into it and ask professionals on their opinions.
The laser used on me is a Long pulsed ND - YAG laser, which is one of the best for Asian skin tones. (Polaris Medical Laser) Lasers can cause discolouration to Asian skin in particular due to the amount of melanin in our skin.
Disclaimer: Every persons skin is different & will react differently to every laser.

Before & After the treatment.

You have to shave the places you are having lasered.
This is so the laser can get deep into the hair follicle.
As well as shaving, you can't have any Cosmetics on the skin either.
If your skin has any sort of cosmetic on it, the laser will burn your skin, which can lead to dark skin patches. You must be careful.
After around 24 hours, you can go ahead and put as many cosmetics on your skin as you wish to :)

I do think laser is the perfect option, especially if your hair is very visible like mine.
I have a light skin tone but dark hair, so it's always visible.
I can't wait to keep having these treatments done. It can work out expensive dependant on how much you're having done but I'd much rather pay the extra knowing I don't have to worry about shaving or waxing anymore.

If you would like any more info on the Laser i'm using or anything about the treatment itself.. Email me at UnLeeshd.alisha@gmail.com.

Golden Milk - The Good Stuff!

I'm currently in bed, listening to John Legend's 'All of me" drinking a cup of "Golden Milk"

If you follow me on Instagram "unleeshd" you would've seen the new photo I just posted.
All you need it Milk, a pinch of turmeric (small amount of honey if you wish) , Heat on a saucepan, sip away. It.s lovely.

Benefits of Turmeric;
  • Clears acne
  • Aids digestion
  • Brightens the skin (Look below for a DIY BRIGHTENING MASK)
  • Natural anti-inflammatory
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Antiseptic properties
  • Improves asthma
  • Natural pain killer
  • Cleanses skin
  • Clearer complexion
  • Combats Hyperpigmentation
  • Targets Dark Circles
There are many more, but I'm forever told Turmeric is a SUPER spice. A lot of people refer to it as CURMERIC.. because it's meant to "cure" everything.
I'm sure it doesn't cure everything but I do believe turmeric helps combat a lot of problems internally & externally.

DIY BRIGHTENING MASK

All you need is:
1 Tablespoon Lemon juice
1/2 Tablespoon Turmeric (available at all supermarkets)
4/5 Tablespoons of natural yoghurt

Mix well and spread evenly over the skin until it dries out.
Wash off with luke warm water.
(Change amount of lemon juice and yoghurt, dependant on how sensitive your skin is.. I use these measurements but you can change the amounts! don't go crazy with turmeric as it can stain!)

VOILA! I apply it all over sometimes, I'm a sucker for natural treatments!
ENJOY!

Antonia Burrell - Natural Glow Cleansing Oil - REVIEW

OH HI GUYS!!!
First & foremost.. HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY! Lets celebrate being fabulous Mothers, Sisters, Aunts, Nans, Wives, Career women, INDEPENDENT WOMEN! x

I apologise for taking so long to review this product. I've trialled it our for a month now as oppose to the two weeks I had originally planned.

Basically, I was a bit hit & miss with this product as first.
The first week my skin was amazing.
Second week, I broke out a little, after a few days of what I believe was all the rubbish coming out of my skin. I haven't had a bad skin day since.
I'm loving this now.
,
Packaging: It is fabulous, simple packaging. They haven't tried to cover a bad product with STUNNING packaging. The packaging is everything it should be. Simple, with all the basic details on the front.

Product: The product is a dark yellow oil, it most definitely smells of "bitter orange" which is how it is described on the packaging too. It kind of smells of Orange peel, however its not overpowering. I detest overpowering scents, purely because those are usually the products that react badly to my skin. This is a subtle scent.

I apply it every evening to take my make up off, use 1-2 pumps (yes pumps, hygienic bottle!)
and rub it into the skin as you would with any face wash or moisturiser.

As you wash it off with water, the oil turns into a milk. Once you wash it off you're left with SOFT skin. Never Oily.

This product retails at £59.50 (I purchased this half price from BeautyMartUK's 50% Off Flash sale.
This product is 100% natural which I love, I'm beginning to use a lot of natural products. My skin has never been so clear and bright. It is definitely something I will be purchasing again. I look forward to trying Antonia Burrell's other products!
