Area H20 - Perfection.

As we know.. the water we use can either be Hard, Medium or Soft.
Have you ever washed your hair in another Town/City thinking.. WHY is my hair so shiny here?
I know I have, I go to visit family in the Midlands a lot, every time I wash my hair there, it seems to look & feel much healthier.
I live in a Hard water area which doesn't do much for my hair. Thankfully, Area H20 have come up with a Shampoo & Conditioner for different water areas.

R.R.P £17.50 for set of 2.

I was sent a bottle of each for a Hard water area. I've used the Shampoo and half the Conditioner up now.
I can honestly tell you, that this stuff has done nothing but good to my hair. I'm used to my hair being very dry hence why I use hair oil on it. It's been smoother and more manageable.
When I don't have to straighten my hair..THAT is when I know I'm using a good product. My hair has looked pretty straight and healthy.

I've loved using this product. I would recommend buying this and giving it a go as I will purchasing a bottle of the Shampoo.
Both Debenhams & Look Fantastic are stocking Area H20. I am predicting big things for this brand.

Hope you enjoyed this review.

Christmas Wishlist Challenge - FD Avenue & London Perfume Company

So the challenge is to choose an outfit with a matching perfume, something you would add to your Christmas wish list all under £75. So here it goes:

I love this dress from FD AVENUE. This dress is very ME, so vintage and pretty. I have a habit of buying black & gold dresses, a lot!
Especially over the Christmas period. It's such a gorgeous colour combo.
Purchase here FD Avenue

£46.99 FD Avenue
If I was to match this with a perfume, I'd go for Kate Moss's - Vintage. The dress has a gorgeous Vintage look to it and its gold just like this bottle. Match made in heaven in my eyes.

Nails of the Day - Bright Red by Barry M

You can't go wrong with Barry M polishes. I'm a big fan. I was feeling a little festive today, so I decided to go for a nice shade of red.
I haven't had painted nails in a while.. it feels so refreshing.

Hope you've all had a great Monday, I've spent mine cosied up in bed. Think I'm coming down with something as my body is aching like mad :(
Gonna get some rest now! Enjoy your night.

American Music Awards 2013 - BANG CENTRAL.

I love how now I'm growing my bangs out ( In UK.. "Fringe"), they're in again!
I'm contemplating having mine put back in again after seeing these two.
Yes, I admit I'm rather celebrity influenced lol Aren't we all?

I saw Kylie Jenner & Taylor Swift rocking their bangs at last nights AMA's and thought WOW! They both really suit that hairstyle. Kudos. Both ladies looked unbelievable.

Nottingham-ginity.. Lost. Bang, Bang.. GORILLA!

I came back from a fantastic trip yesterday. Nottingham city.
I'd never been before, the only reason I went was because I'd bought tickets to see my beloved, favourite music artist BRUNO MARS!

I loved the atmosphere and how happy the people were.
I'm sure you can all think of places where you've been and thought, "how miserable are the people here?"
I got such a good vibe and am dying to go back so I can shop properly and check the place out. I was really limited on time yesterday but the shopping in Nottingham seems amazing.
The little Christmas market was adorable. Put me in a really good mood.
Any place that makes you feel positive is a place worth revisiting. - Alisha Marie, 2013 ;-)

A massive thank you to Mercure Hotel for a lovely stay.
We booked a suite which was so cosy and cute, perfect for 3-4 people.
Cosy beds, a couple TV's, Sofa, mini bar, massive bathroom, quirky mirrors..a safe! ha. T
he staff were so friendly, even after my diva requests (Hot water bottle, more tea bags.. yes I'm a 24 year old Grandma!)
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay over in Nottingham.
It is in the town centre, so you are close to all the night life, shopping and restaurants.

Ready to shop. Hadn't taken a "selfie" in while.

The bedroom (R) The Lounge (L) Hotel Mercure, Nottingham.

The Bruno Mars gig was everything I expected and more. I searched for months and months for tickets to see him. I was so upset when I couldn't get tickets.
Thank you to a lovely Twitter friend, I finally got what I was looking for.
I've been to see him before at a much smaller and intimate gig, he was amazing then and just as good now.
Such a natural performer. I wish I could go to the Superbowl in the states to see him perform there too! I danced and jumped about so hard I actually think I've broken my little toe.. oops!

You might have guessed that I was a little over excited to see him if you follow me on Instagram and Twitter haha I couldn't contain my excitement.

The Bruno Badges were on!!
I had a fantastic Friday night and hope to visit Nottingham again, very soon!

Cherry Coco - Luxury Skincare giveaway

A little while ago, I wrote a review on my day out to the Make up show live, hosted at the Hilton Metropole in London.

I wrote my review on the skincare brand CHERRY COCO.
For those who can't remember. They are basically a brand specialising in Natural & handmade soaps, scrubs and body butters.

I don't know about you, but I love anything natural, it does wonders for your skin. As I said before, it does all the cleaning and moisturising without stripping your body of its natural oils.

Cherry Coco has kindly given me some samples of their products for you lovely readers. Honestly, you need to give them a go. They are so gentle on the skin, if your skin is like mine (dry, irritable and sensitive) I highly recommend them.

I have enough samples for 4 lovely readers and I will also add a couple samples to my upcoming Christmas giveaway which will be full of various products.

For now though, 4 lucky people will be chosen at random!
If you would like to win a sample of Soap and Body Butter, enter away!

You have until Friday 15th November 2013 to enter:

1. You do not have to be a GFC follower but include a name that isn't ANONYMOUS.

2. For 1 entry, post anything at the bottom of this page, including your email address.

Make-up Show Live 2013 - REVIEW

Two weeks ago, I headed down to London town to attend the Make up show live @ The Hilton Metrapole.
I was given a press pass as a blogger and spoke to a lot of people about new products.

I purchased and tried a few so thought I'd give you my opinion on the brands I saw.

Cherry Coco.

This has to be my favourite out of them all, purely because of the products and how well my skin would take to them.
Cherry Coco specialise in hand-made body creams and soaps. I spoke to one of the girls at this stand and she was lovely, very down to earth and informative about the products.
Their soaps are very gentle, they do the cleaning job without stripping your natural oils, as well as adding moisture to the skin.
The body whips are lovely and rich, again so moisturising and the best part is that they're all natural and Preservative free.
Have a look at their products here as I promise they are worth a try.
http://www.cherrycoco.co.uk

Another brand I found really interesting was,

Diamond Blend

The "Cocktail of youth" All products are made from properties of Diamond and Marine Phytoplankton (known to be great for premature aging) claiming to help target the signs of aging. How fabulous.
Their products include the Diamond mineral face mask, eye patches, Feet, Elbows and Knee Lotion, Bio Gel Face Mask, Hand lotion and a 24hr Moisturiser.

I tried the Diamond mineral face mask on Friday night, I haven't seen any visible difference, but I will try the product again as I think you need to use them regularly to see a difference.

Lastly, one of my last favourites has to be..

MOTIVES

I love their products, I bought some to try before the show, when I saw the stand I was so happy as the Motives brand only sell online.
I had the chance to swatch the products.  I purchased yet another eyeshadow and the Lumiere de vie face cream (blogged about last week) This brand is my current favourite.

The girls at Motives were fabulous, so informing and welcoming. Thank you, ladies.

The show was great and directed to Women of Colour.
Some of the make-up brands such as Motives, Flori Roberts and Celebrity make-up artist AJ CRIMSON's products cater to darker skin tones. Something we seem to see less of in stores.

I had a great day, and hope to go back again next year.

Limited Edition MAC Antonio Lopez Lip Palette - SWATCH

I am loving red lipsticks right now. I have vowed however that I will be going the next month wearing next to no make-up whatsoever as I want to give my skin a breather and I'm actually loving the natural look at the moment. I don't know how long I will last.. I will obviously start wearing make-up once again. Eek!

A month or so ago, I watched a YouTube clip by Michelle of Beauty & the Blog "The Perfect Red Lip."
After watching this short clip, I loved this look and thought to buy my own red lip kit.
Red lips are so classy and timeless. Very underrated too.
The new lip palette I purchased is perfect.
The palette consists of three shades, from a coral red to a deep red.
(From Left to Right..  Scarlet Ibis (Matte), MAC Red (Satin), Deeply Adored (Matte))

I'm loving "Deeply adored" myself. The Antonio Lopez make-up collection seems to be doing really well. These shades are great for Autumn/Fall.

RRP £25 Selfridges.
Antonio Lopez was a much loved Fashion Illustrator featuring in the likes of Vogue & Harper's Bazaar. He illustrated the most quirky and vibrant illustrations. This collection is a tribute to him. His work is on the cover of all palettes. The whole collection consists of eye palettes, two other lip palettes, blushes, make up bag, mirror and even a tote.

SWATCH.

The Coral shade isn't a shade I'd typically go for but the other two are stunning!!

I also purchased a lip liner which IS NOT in the Antonio Lopez collection. I thought it would go really well with the last two shades of red in the palette. (swatch above)

RRP £14.50 Selfridges.
I'm very impressed with this collection and wished I'd bought more, but I'm being sensible with my money at the moment so this will do hehe. Hope you're all having a great Sunday.

Do you want to bRECOGNISED?

bRECOGNISED is a new clothing store in Northampton (Gold St Mews, opposite Millenniums.) It is open 11-8 everyday.
This brand supports upcoming fashion designers & artists by stocking their pieces.
I love the concept of this store. They haven't chosen to stock brands we've already heard of, they've decided to support upcoming designers and artists out there.
If you are local, or visiting in and around the area, Have a little visit as this store sounds very promising.

The store not only debuts fresh fashion labels, they also have artwork up in the shop drawn and designed by new artists which is such a great idea.
They are very affordable with items ranging from £10-40.
This independent boutique has something special for both Men & Women. With its quirky decor (T-shirts in floating frames) & fabulous layout (clothing out on snooker table), I think it'll do very well.
I love supporting brands like this one as not only have they opened their own store, they have decided to help and support others and assist them to bRECOGNISED!

Good luck to bRECOGNISED! I cannot wait to shop there.
You can follow this store on Twitter @b_recognised.

Lumiere De Vie - Intense Rejuvenation Creme - REVIEW

As a few of you may know from my last blog post, Twitter & Instagram (@UnLeeshd)
I attended the Hilton Metrapole, in London last Sunday to check some new products out.
I will do a blog post especially on the show itself tomorrow.

This post is about this fabulous moisturiser.
I have ordered a few Motives cosmetics without trying them out. Their skincare range sounded promising but I wasn't going to pay out for a product I was unsure about. Make-up is something I'll buy without trying but I'm a little fussy when it comes to Skincare.

R.R.P £47.50/50ml
The packaging is lovely. But more importantly, the product..
I tried out this cream as well as the serum and they both looked promising.
I decided to buy the moisturiser first. After just under a week of use, I can officially say that I'M IN LOVE!
The richness of this cream and subtle scent really appeals to me. I hate, and I mean HATE overly scented skin products.
My skin is so irritable. Anything with too much of a scent to it has a habit of making my skin all red and itchy.
This cream is lovely. The richness makes your skin feel so soft and healthy, which is perfect for the colder/bitter weather here in England.
Your skin feels so smooth after the application, you can even use it as a base for your foundation.

Gorgeous, rich cream

A little goes a long way.

I love the concept behind the name of this Skincare range, Lumiere De Vie is French for Light of Life.
Amber Ridinger, who has come up with this line explained that she loved this name because this brand brings Light into peoples lives.
It adds confidence to the skin. It minimises those spots, marks and red areas to the skin that can sometimes put you down.
This line is all about being positive & confident in yourself, which I simply adore.

This product claims to -
  • Hydrate
  • Repair stressed skin
  • Reduce appearance of wrinkles, lines and age spots
  • Improves radiance and firmness
I really can't wait to order the serum next which has had such amazing reviews.

Keep an eye out for this Skincare range, I think it'll be one of the next big things really soon.

Aveda's Invati Hair Range.

I have recently been introduced to Aveda products. I've used Herbal Essences for so long, I never thought to use any other brand. Until..

I saw this advert on the tele. I'll tell you now, I'm one of those irritating people who can't leave adverts on, I switch from channel to channel until my tv shows on again. Something about this ad had me HOOKED!

I love Indian remedies, this ad reminded me how amazing these remedies are.
Turmeric is a well known spice to us Indians. I was always told to drink warm milk with 1/4 spoon of Turmeric (haldi) as it was good for you, especially when poorly. Turmeric is used for many different reasons Skincare, haircare, cooking. It's amazing.

I'm very " in to" natural remedies as oppose to relying on medications and different chemicals unknown to me.
This advert just caught my whole attention.
I've got the whole range at home and I love it.

This range promises to reduce hair loss and breakage to keep hair longer.
The scent might be a little strong but I can assure you, your hair does not smell of the shampoo once its dry.
It definitely smells of mild spice, if any of you have ever tasted "Paan" also known as a Betel leaf, it kind of smells like that but you can't smell it once you've washed and dried your hair.

My hair feels so healthy and thick. I used to hate having thick hair as a kid but all I want now is thicker hair! I highly recommend this product. This range comes with a Scalp Revitalizer which you spray and massage into the scalp. I've only used the Shampoo and Conditioner so far. I will do a seperate post on the Spray once I start using it.
All Invati kit is £86.

100th episode of CHATTYMAN!

A quick message to my fellow Alan Carr/Chattyman fans.

Chattyman's 100th episode is on Channel 4 at 10pm tonight.
I can't believe Alan's done 100 episodes of this hilarious show.
I've watched every single episode and still love it as much as I did the first time I watched it.
I took my Mum, her bestie and my gorgeous friend Lawrence to sit in the Chattyman audience (Vernon Kay, Ricky Gervais, Warwick Davis). It was definitely one of the funniest evenings I'd ever had.

Tune in tonight as he has RIHANNA, JUSTIN TIMBO plus DAVID HAYE! After the stressful week I've had, I cannot wait to tune in!

Don't laugh.. I was 18/19! (5/6 years ago! arghh!) Northampton town, wearing a pair of "Playboy" jeans. God, give me strength!

Tune in tonight! I can imagine its going to be a good'un!

Preparing for the Winter with Eve Lom.

I recently wrote a blog post about the Eve Lom Cleanser, which I am IN LOVE with.
The colder months are upon us and I know exactly how my skin reacts to it. I have dry skin all year round but the minute it gets colder, my skin becomes so dry and flaky.
Not the best look, is it?

Since the Eve Lom cleanser has impressed me, this day cream will be my next purchase..

£40 for 50ml

It claims to:
-Hydrate
-Give a matte finish, perfect base for make-up application
-Minimise apperances of fine lines

Original Nipple Balm for Lips - DR LIPP. REVIEW.

You didn't read this wrong. YES! This lip balm was once used as a Nipple balm for breast feeding mothers.
Dr Lipp's Nipple balm for lips can be used for EVERYTHING skin wise.
You can use it during and after pregnancy, on Baby's bottoms, Eczema, Dry skin problems in general as well as using for lip gloss, as an eye cream or highlighting purposes.

I mentioned in my last post how I visited a SPACE:NK in Birmingham. This was needed! Especially since the colder months are upon us, it is so important to moisturise.

£11.50 for 15ml

I'm loving this product. The only ingredient in this product is Medical Grade Lanolin. I love products that are natural. This product is also Hypo-allergenic.
My skin is so sensitive, I'm constantly itching away. This product is thick enough to moisturise thoroughly into the skin without irritating it even more.
It is only a small tube but you don't need much if you're using for small everyday uses e.g. Lips, nipples, under the eye, highlighting.
In my opinion, this is a handbag ESSENTIAL!

Eve Lom - Cleanser- THE REVIEW

I finally visited a SPACE.NK in Birmingham last weekend. I was very impressed with the range of products and wish my bank account allowed me to buy a lot more than I did.

After Kaushal's (www.Beauty-fulfilled.com) recommendation, I bought the smallest tub of Eve Lom's raved about cleanser.
Thought I'd try the small one first to see if my skin took to it.
The cleanser comes with a Muslin cloth.

£40 - 50ml

The consistency looks like a solid wax until it warms on your skin, it is very oily but the oil comes off really well when you use the Muslin cloth.
I have been using this all week, and after only a weeks use, my skin feels very soft at all times. I suffer from dry skin, especially during the colder months. I'm sure this product has been bought at the right time.
The only thing I will say is the price is a little steep. The smaller tub I purchased is a 50ml and cost me £40 which is a bit much. But I can assure you, you can make this product last as a little goes a long way.
The scent isn't as overpowering as I thought it would be considering it has Clove and Eucalyptus oils in.

Here is a helpful little video on this product:

Bollywood Fashion - Aashiqui 2.

I FINALLY got round to watching a film called Aashiqui 2. The first one came out when I was about 3, since the day it came out, I have been obsessed with the soundtrack. Here we are 2013, OBSESSED with the sequel.

If you aren't familiar with Bollywood, I highly recommend you buying a bollywood movie as most come with English subtitles, you'll fall in love too.

Anyway, I watched this last night and fell in love with this saree. I'm actually considering to buy it.. £240!! Do I? Don't I? I think I know your answer lol

I think by now, my readers have realised how much of a Bruno fan I am.
So chuffed to find he won two VMA's last night, on my birthday too! WOO WOO!!

Hair Oils - Affordable & Oh, so Fabulous.

From reading certain blog posts and magazines, it seems that people are being "mugged off" a little.
I don't doubt that certain hair oils out there on the market aren't good for the hair because I'm sure some are.
However, there are some amazing oils out there that have been around for decades.

I've been using oils from the Vatika range for over a year now.
They are very popular with people with Afro-Caribbean hair and Asians.
The Vatika range has been out in India & Pakistan since I was a kid. I remember so many of their adverts.

Since growing my hair so long, I've found the need to go above & beyond for my hair. Its in great shape at the moment and I thank this range for it.

I've gone through most of the coconut oils and I'm now trying the Almond one which has been great so far and smells lovely.
A little bit like baby powder.. I love that smell.

These oils range £2-5.

It angers me a little when I know people are spending a good £15+ on a hair oil. I pay £3 for a 200ml bottle. It lasts ages too!
Vatika is available in nearly all Asian and Afro Caribbean supermarkets.
I highly recommend them to you.
